1933 (what else :P) 1957 (I don't like absolute majorities) Title: Re: Democratic Parliamentary Elections in Germany Survivor - Round 1 Post by: big bad fab on December 11, 2010, 04:20:28 PM 1874 1878 EDIT: ah, those voters who don't read the rules... !!! So, let's put it right: 1874 1933 1961 And sorry also for "bad" picks, as I'm not a specialist of German politics, far from it... Just shout when it's really weird ;) Title: Re: Democratic Parliamentary Elections in Germany Survivor - Round 1 Post by: minionofmidas on December 12, 2010, 04:44:33 AM I am not sure I would call the Kaiserreich elections or 1933 "Democratic". Also, where is Volkskammer 1990?

July 1932 [I think 1933 is no 'democratic election'; i would like to see if you can take it out] 1957 [I agree Hans] Title: Re: Democratic Parliamentary Elections in Germany Survivor - Round 1 Post by: Hans-im-Glück on December 12, 2010, 02:43:49 PM I am not sure I would call the Kaiserreich elections or 1933 "Democratic". Also, where is Volkskammer 1990? The Empire wasn't democratic, but the elections was nearly democratic. You can vote for the candidate you want and it was one man, one vote. That the Reichstag have nothing o say, is true, but this is an other probelm. The Prussian elections wasn't democratic. 1933 wasn't a fair election, but it was democratic enough to put it on this list. With all the pressure of the Nazi, they don't get the absolute majority. It was more democratic than the most elections of the third world of today. 1990 of East Germany was a important and maybe the best of all elections in Germany, but it wasn't a election of total Germany. But when the many of our posters want it on the list, then it is no problem for me. Title: Re: Democratic Parliamentary Elections in Germany Survivor - Round 1 Post by: big bad fab on December 12, 2010, 04:04:03 PM Your list is fine.
Without the Empire, that woul be far less fun ! 1990 DDR was a kind of regional election ;D And 1933 will be out anyway. But when the many of our posters want it on the list, then it is no problem for me. West Germany was 80% and East Germany was 20% of Germany. I think this is a big difference. But I said it before, when you want it on the list then it's on the list. In the next round you will see the Volkskammerwahl (East Germany) 1990 on the list. I don't restart the Survivor, because I don't think that election would be eliminated in round one ;) Title: Re: Democratic Parliamentary Elections in Germany Survivor - Round 1 Post by: minionofmidas on December 13, 2010, 02:00:06 PM 1871, 1933, the other 1990.

It was really a historical election. On the election day, Kiesinger was the winner and then the SPD and the FDP announce that they want to build a coalition. This election was the start of the "Ostpolitik" and many socially reforms come with the Brandt/Scheel government. I'm very sad this election is out. I don't voted it, because I think 2005 and 1912 are worse. There are many elections out I find better than 1928, but that happen in a Survivor-Game. German federal election (German Empire) German federal election (Weimar Republic) After WWII 1972 is the Winner The Winner is: 1972 () That 1972 wins in this Forum isn't a Surprise ;) 1972 was the "Willy Wählen" (Vote for Willy Brandt) election. It was the best SPD result ever and it was like a referendum for the "Ostpolitik" Thanks to all who participated in this game :) Title: Re: Democratic Parliamentary Elections in Germany Survivor - 1972 is the Winner Post by: big bad fab on January 11, 2011, 05:11:14 PM I'm a bit sad a Weimar election didn't win this, but that would have really been a surprise.
I think it was a bit less biased than expected ;D. So it kept a minimal suspense, which is the most important thing. |
