Title: Re: Your county's # of votes Post by: J. J. on November 24, 2004, 12:32:33 AM It's not in the Atlas, but the highest voter turnout in Philadelphia was 1987. Wilson Goode vs. Frank Rizzo for mayor, also known as "The evil of two lessers." What was interesting is that Goode was re-elected after having bombed part of the city, destroying a city block.
I live in the only city in America that both bombed itself and had a meeting of the Fraternal Order of Police meeting end in a riot. Title: Re: Your county's # of votes Post by: bushforever on November 24, 2004, 01:14:57 AM I live in McHenry County, IL. It's a fast growing suburban area 50 miles northwest of Chicago. It is dominated by riverside towns, vast farmland, and most recently...sprawl! It has gone Republican every presidential election since 1960, and probably more before then. The 21st century elections (fueled by suburban growth here) saw our vote totals climb past the 100,000 mark.
