I doubt he will be re-elected, though as 14, possibly 18 years in the same place is too much, especially the top office in the state. Plus, I think his failing 2012 Presidential Bid is going to come back to bite him two years from now.

No, Perry would not be a fool to run for reelection in 2014. The state would still probably be Republican enough to reelected a well entrenched incumbent. He will have already served over 14 years by the time his current term ends. He's gotta draw the line somewhere. But if by some small chance he does, then most likely yes, unless he really screws up in Texas. I don't think this presidential bid did him any favors, but I certainly don't think it significantly hurt him.
