Thank you Pingvin- I used to support Flat Tax but have moved over to FairTax... it makes sense to tax what we buy rather then what we earn

Good luck, Clarence.

Where do you stand on environmental issues? (energy, mountaintop removal, etc.)

hank you Scott- In energy I believe in utilizing our resources here in terms of fuel... Drilling in most places available... with this anw ith mountaintop renewal I believe in regulation and limitation if it impacts human health.....human interests must always come before interests of other species but it isnt one or the other- ANWR drilling would take up a very small chunk of the reserve
I don't believe that the govt should choose winners or losers in the energy market... Solyndra being an example

Clarence, I grew up in the Appalachians and greatly appreciated having clean streams and beautiful views as a child, so if you could double down a little on regulating mountaintop removal, I can tell you I'll definitely be tempted to second- or third-preference you. :)

From your previous activity in Atlasia I know what you stand for and can say with pleasure that you have my support. I wish you the best of luck.

I have two questions: The Senate is currently debating a bill which seeks to impose term limits on Senators and a bill which attempts to reform the Vice Presidency - basically saying that the Vice President, whose powers are very much limited under the current constitution, should become the 11th Senator. What is your opinion on these bills?

Thank you ZuWo- that is an honor
For your questions- I support trm limits. You folks who have been around here for a while make it hard for us newboys to break in and if gtting new members is the problem this is a way to fix it. For the VP- I trust the folks putting it forward and supporting it....I am not an expert on the dynamics of the board yet but they say it will make this whole deal better and I believe them

I know that, which is why I resolve to in the future rip out the plastic part, which only takes a second anyway.

I rarely have to dispose of tissue boxes in any case.

And annex Canada.
NE would recieve New Brunswick, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador and Southeast Ontario.
Pacific would recieve Northwest Ontario, Manitoba, Nunavut, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Alberta, British Columbia and Yukon.

Fellow Atlas Members-

THANK YOU!!!!! I am honored by your support you have shown by electing me Senator… in addition to your friendship and kindness for the past few months. This may be the web but  I consider you all to be friends and you have welcomed an old conservative like me into your board and elected me to this post- it means a grat deal. Thank you to those who have shown me the ropes. Thank you to those conservatives such as North Carolina Yankee, TJ in Cleve, and ZuWo who guided me as a newboy and paved the way for me to get elected. Thank you to those of you who may not agree with me on every issue but who we work to find common ground- Franzl and Miles I am honored by your support. To all who put me on your ballot or considered me- I am grateful to all of you

I congratulate Oakvale for his victory- I am looking forward to srving with you and I am glad we are united on the issue of conscription. I congratulate Jbrase for a strong write-in campaign and I congratulate EarlAW for his efforts… I will speak for all of you whether I earned your vote or not in this election…

I know I am now a part of a legislature which does not count me as a majority…conservatives is not a dime a dozen and I see debates on the far left spectrum… I will approach these debates with respect but with conviction- no one will ever need to ask me where I stand. I won’t mince words but I won’t let policy disagreements lead to personal animosity… I will put forward bills which strengthen our nation in the world and in our communities. You might not like what I put forward but you WILL have an opinion- and I will be the spark of debateabout the issues at hand in our nation-

I want to touch again on this community- I did not grow up with the web or even a television set… this was foreign to me until a couple  years ago…to think that I would feel a part of something I can not see and be able to call people I have never met whose names I don’t even know friends is amazing and it is sure special… I am grateful to all of you for accepting me even when I am crass and cranky and for adding a new aspect to my life which stops the days from dragging on without consistent purpose- you all keep me sharp and you keep me happy… I am not able to truly express the meaning of what I’ve said due to the web’s limits… but thank you all

clarence

I wish you the best in the Senate. I'm sure you will be an active Senator. :)

Now enjoy your election and ignore those who want to provoke you with odd attacks. Stay calm and you will be superior to the critics who assault you on a personal level.
