And pretty unsuccessfully one. He was absolutely clueless as Governor, unable to pass his agenda, whatever it was, while very able in antagonizing the people he needed. But since it ended up a race between the crook (Edwin Edwards) and the white supremacist lunatic (David Duke), I probably would have voted for Edwards in the actual runoff.
