Employment is up by 1.3 million alone in the past 2 months. Employment is up by 2.3 million alone in the past 6 months. Employment is up by 2.5 million in the past year. Employment is up by 4.1 million since the low of 138 million in December 2009. Employment is now higher by 400K than in February 2009, in Obama's first month in office. Unemployment (12.8 million) is now also lower than in February 2009. Good news on a front doomsayers always like to focus on - half a million people rejoined the labour force. Also good news are the big upward revisions. We're still stuck at 8.3% unemployment and gas prices are already through the roof for the summer. I know when you want to win you paint a rosier picture for the base of the party, but this just isn't working. It is funny how Republicans keep moving the goal post. First, when the unemployment rate was dropping it was due to discourage workers now that people are re-entering the work force and the rate stay the same(which is actually a good thing.....) you guys complain about the rate......it is very predictable. Gas prices will do what they always do, peak in the summer then go down in the fall. |
