And it will certainly never be less democrat than the nation as a whole. Title: Re: will california go gop in a prez race again in your lifetime? Post by: Lambsbread on April 12, 2012, 07:48:05 PM Meh, maybe when I'm in my 40's or 50's. I see the real "shift" in the parties happening sometime between 2030 and 2040, so I would be in my 30's. The "shift" I'm referring to is the GOP becoming more Libertarian and the Democrats becoming more Authoritarian/Populist/maybe even Socialist a bit.

A battleground California in 40-50 years may be blacks, the Bay, and working-class Hispanics (the latter has heavily integrated by this point) against white suburbia and rural NorCal. I don't turn 100 for another 82 years! Title: Re: will california go gop in a prez race again in your lifetime? Take a look at what is going on in a bunch of state legislature's, the GOP is still all about shoving religion into every single piece of public policy.
