Anyone that "mourns" him and at the same time reported him at any point in the past is a douchebag of the highest order.

edit-obviously...it should go without saying...but I'm saying it anyway

I don't think I ever reported him, and even if I did it's irrelevant because I became a changed person through the power of Christ during his first banning and quite reporting people out of spite and started lobbying for the unbanning of Einzige and Libertas.

Of course you'll say it's irrelevant, you were the one being a douchebag (if you did report him).  You were a douchebag when you were reporting people out of spite and political differences, just like anybody else that does that.  It's good that you've asked Christ for forgiveness and that you've changed, it still doesn't change the fact that you did it.  Just like opebo is still a douchebag for reporting people and then bitching about the reporting system (assuming he still does that).  It's bad to report people out spite/political differences, it's several orders of magnitude worse to do it and then bitch about the system you're abusing.

dead0man look, of course I've sinned. Just as you've sinned. jmfcst has sinned. All the mods have sinned.

Quote from: Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

The difference is that I will not pretend that I am any better than others like you are. I am admitting my sin and my need for redemption. But the one man who never sinned, Jesus, was tortured and suffered on the cross in unjust persecution even worse than the unjust persecution that just occurred today. And through that we can be redeemed. Like that song that they played last Sunday "On Christ this solid rock I stand! All other ground is sinking sand!"

All of those who spit on and mocked jmfcst and actively took part in his persecution will one day have to stand before God in full knowledge of this, it is good for them that God is far more merciful and forgiving than they are.

He asked me to forward this:

To my friends, which all of you are...

Goodbyes are never easy, and I haven't had to say goodbye very often in my life.  But goodbyes are inevitable.  And this goodbye hurts.

Sorry for the drama of this messy exit, it's all been rather childish of me, but I really need to move on.  I have asked Nym to do his duty.

Thanks for keeping me company, esp during my stay in Boston,  and keep your chins up.  I will miss you, you're a good group.  But it is simply time for me to go.

Love ya,
Jay Frederick

For the history books, this was the last infraction that broke the camel's back:

Well I would not infract I suspect, unless in a bad mood, but one little problem is that the question was about kissing, not a request to catalogue the entirety of your portfolio of sex acts, particularly when well, the actors involved are prepubescent. Just a thought. We live in a complex world don't we?

...obviously, there is always at least one Mod in a bad mood.  But, though unsightly, my account was just a kiss, and the poll did have prepuberencent (word?) age categories...so, at the every least, it was a slight case of entrapment.

Now that I am at 98 death points, the calculus has changed and I can't even pass gas...according to my calculations, on May 28th,  8 death points will roll off, taking me potentially down to 90...but then I have to wait until around June 15th for another 16 points to roll off.

Now, seeing that we’re about to enter a long weekend, I probably wont be logged back in until Tuesday, which could allow my total to drop to 90…but the idea that I could survive on an allowance of 10 death points until June 15th is possible, but, however….unlikely.

But..hold on a second...I have put pencil and paper and calculated that if I stay off the following boards until June 15th, I might just survive:

Off Topic
Forum Community
2012 U.S. Presidential Election
The Atlas
Forum Community
U.S. General Discussion
International General Discussion
Off Topic

Which basically means if any of the following events occur in the world between now and June 15th, I’m a goner: war (International General Discussion)…politics (2012 U.S. Presidential Election, U.S. General Discussion)…or more black girls posing for pictures in my living room (Off Topic, Forum Community, The Atlas).

But, I know my oldest daughter is having several of her friends spend the night tonight, so maybe I should just draft my Last Will and Testament and sign off…

I don't see what's infractable there, but such things have come to be expected around here...

..if this is really it, which I find very hard to believe (jmf being one of the select few members who was here when I got here and remains(ed?)), I suppose it is time for that certain Green Day song.

I don't either really, but as the camel back breaking post discloses, planning on only trimming your sails when you pass 95 death points, is sort of like that Italian boat captain who liked to take his cruise ship close in to the harbor to show off to whomever he planned to bed that night. Except here, it seems per jmfcst's fond farewell notes, that in his case, it was done rather deliberately. We have quite an array of posters on the books now who chose to leave not with a whimper, but with a bang.

I do regret that I apparently was the unintentional siren who finally seduced him into crossing over the River Styx. I wish I had not made that post. :(

It was infracted for trolling, due to being a statement of how he planned to skirt and game the system.  It was a minor infraction, but when you're already at 98...

I got multiple opinions on that one, BTW.  It wasn't a unilateral decision.

He was entertaining, but I don't really care. Though it's amazingly difficult to understand conversations with so many R-TX avatars floating around.

You remember that scene in Spartacus don't you, where the real one stood up when the Romans asked who was Spartacus, and as he stood up, the men on either side did too, and said "I'm Spartacus" in unison with Kirk Douglas, and then his entire company stood up and did the same thing. Here of course, we have more than one company in residence. :)

I liked Jay and his weird sense of humor, unique point of view and his commitment to his principles. However, on several instances years back he did cross lines and was personally offensive to and abusive of fellow member(s).  I could see why some others are not shedding a tear on his departure.  Tbs, I think this place is a weaker site in his absence. There is a continuing trend of good or at least unique posters leaving and being replaced by what I find to be inferior posters.  You also lose another voice on the right. So the echo chamber gets bigger, and the standard bearers of the conservative  point of view on this site are trolls like Winfield. Sad.

You don't just ban someone who has been here for a decade. Who cares if he reached a certain number of points within an extremely stupid system? The mods need to do a better job of utilizing discretion based upon the dynamics of the forum and not adhering to inane rigidity when this place clearly transcends such.

BRTD let's think about this for a moment. In the run up to the last days, I suggested to jmfcst (more than once) that he just calm down, and get over his mod thing. At that point, he was maybe at 75 death points or whatever. You would have thought he got the message. What did he do? Well he went to a Board with a gay moderator, and posted sh*t with the word "homosexual" painted in red (and he himself admitted that it was over the line, or at least accepted the score of death points he got).  That got him to 95 death points. So I ask you this. Given that factual pattern, isn't it the most reasonable surmise that jmfcst wanted to leave, and rather than just going quietly in the night, chose to make himself a drama queen?

One has a responsibility when here, to try to work with others, and fit in, and respect the rules, and when something goes awry, handle it as an adult. None of that happened here. Sure it is sad and all, and I like jmfcst, I really do, but in the end, his behavior was really narcissistic. It should be a good lesson for all the youngs here to ponder. No matter who you are, it is never all about you, and you won't do well in life, if you don't make reasonable compromises, exercise self restraint, and carefully pick your shots, where you want to make a stand. Rather, you will be more of a crash and burn artist.

If he really wanted to get himself banned, he could have simply asked outright.  Like that one kid from Colorado or somewhere whose username escapes me right now.  He put up a thread in the Atlas saying "please ban me", and Nym did so.  Very little drama.  But no, jmfcst preferred to troll his way out for several years instead.

While the banning of Jmfcst is truly tragic it makes me wonder how much mourning would be shed for him if he joined in say October of 2011 instead of when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

We've lost a troll; nothing more, nothing less.

You're talking about someone who has been around for twice as long as you, and when you consider that for close to an entire year after coming here your posting history was around 80% stuff like this...

Hmm.  That's not really relevant, BRTD.  J was a troll; his length of tenure here and my past posts do not justify you attacking me, nor do they combine to make him no longer worthy of a ban.  He was a troll, deal with it.

You don't just ban someone who has been here for a decade. Who cares if he reached a certain number of points within an extremely stupid system? The mods need to do a better job of utilizing discretion based upon the dynamics of the forum and not adhering to inane rigidity when this place clearly transcends such.

Among all the bans that have been enacted since I joined, Jmfcst is certainly not the most undeserved.

to take another angle on this, does anyone else wonder exactly what he does all day now?  surely he has returned to read some evidence of the hysteria he left in his wake, but... he would spend countless hours 'trolling', arguing against various walls and rocks about the New Testament, and now... gone!

If Jay were a left-wing troll, you'd celebrate his banning right now.

Such things don't bear thinking about.  But I can tell you that in my case I play more online chess.

I was gone for several years. What are "death points"?

Annoyingly popular user nickname for infraction points, which one accumulates when one makes an infracted post.

Don't take it personally.  I do it because "death" has fewer letters in it than "infraction," and the key work is easier. Honest! Try the "ract" key sequence involving three different fingers if you don't believe me. :)

Mikado - Instead of whining about the term death points find out who Win32 is  because if he was here several years ago he's made a second account given the few posts he's made.
