For me, it would have probably been Debs, though TR is a possibility. Certainly not Woody anyway. Title: Re: 1912 U.S. Presidential Election Post by: Goldwater on September 25, 2012, 05:48:38 PM Taft, I suppose.
Title: Re: 1912 U.S. Presidential Election Post by: 🐒Gods of Prosperity🔱🐲💸 on September 26, 2012, 02:12:08 AM probably Taft, though w/o hindsight possibly Wilson. Wilson seemed at some times to want to devolve power (both corporate and political) and other times to want to concentrate it in government (esp. executive) so I'm not sure how I would have perceived him at the time.

Title: Re: 1912 U.S. Presidential Election Post by: © tweed on September 26, 2012, 09:57:51 AM Debs though he would not have been totally my kind of (s)ocialist at that point in history

Wilson couldn't have been considered a warmonger in 1912, and for all his faults related to WW1 his approach was anything but imperialistic.
