Title: VA: Kimball Political Consulting: Romney +11
Post by: cinyc on October 16, 2012, 04:48:00 PM
Virginia Poll by Kimball Political Consulting (http://www.kimballpoliticalconsulting.com/KPC_Frequency_Crosstabs_VA_10_13.pdf)
Romney 53.9%
Obama 43.2%
Undecided 2.9%

October 12-13; 696 Likely Voters; MoE 3.7%.

I've never heard of the pollster, but at least they have a website (http://www.kimballpc.com/).

Kimball weighed the poll to Gallup's 2012 Virginia Party ID - 35R, 34D, 30I.  Full crosstabs are available at the link.  Romney leads in NoVa 49.8%-47.4%.

Doesn't change that they clearly have no idea what they're doing...

The poll was taken over the weekend and released to the press today (http://www.heraldonline.com/2012/10/16/4341542/new-mirror-image-gallup-poll-shows.html).  It's really not that old.

Whether it is any good is a totally separate question.  FWIW, it doesn't appear to be anyone's internal.

That's why I said, "Not a name firm."  :)

IIRC they are a Massachusets Republican firm. They are the only ones that have found Brown leading Warren after the summer.

Not a particularly good pollster, but there were several polls that put Brown ahead after 9/1/12.  Kimball isn't on the Senate poll list.

Doesn't beat Rasmussen in Hawaii.

Kimball is a Republican internal pollster for Scott Brown.

But this is a joke poll. VA is a toss-up.

BTW: Don't trust a pollster that writes "Barak Obama" in their crosstab release ... ;)
