Title: CNN Poll: Romney now trusted on the "key issues"
Post by: sg0508 on October 16, 2012, 11:02:18 PM
Despite the president's 46-39% margin over the Governor of who "won" the debate, the Governor is now trusted on the key issues (same voters):

1) Taxes
2) The economy
3) The deficit
4) Healthcare

That is bad, bad news for the President to say the least and while CNN made it clear that Republicans outweighed democrats in that poll, not good if you are an Obama supporter.

Romney is more trusted on some of the issues by a heavily Republican audience. Damn, Obama is doomed.

It is a mistake to trust either of these candidates with any issue.

Well, the percent saying they were republicans (although people can lie obviously) was only slightly higher than democrats.

With a Republican sample, that's to be expected. The fact that he won the debate on a very Republican sample is telling.

It is absurd to use a Republican sampled snap poll of debate watchers as a broader poll for voter trust on key issues. Actual, properly sampled polls do that. Not debate polls.

The sample was 33% Democratic, 33% Republican and 33-34% Independent.  R+0.  Not a "very Republican sample".  An even sample.

8 points more Republican than CNN's polls of the general electorate, apparently.

Wolf Blitzer: "This sample is 8% more Republican than any sample CNN has done so far for the 2012 election."

It was 8% more Republican that CNN's standard polls; the difference was 18 points.

Clearly those who trust Romney on healthcare want to replace ObamaCare with RomneyCare so that abortions will be covered.

These numbers are useless without comparing them to how the same voters felt before the debate.
