Title: Warren County (Vicksburg), MS
Post by: RBH on December 04, 2012, 03:05:00 PM
Went for Obama, making him the first Democrat to win the county since JFK and the first Democrat to win the county with a majority since FDR (not counting Thurmond as a Democrat for the purposes of this question).

It went 58-42 Bush, 51-48 McCain and 50-49 Obama.

So it might be moving in a similar direction as Hinds County (which went Bush in 92 and Clinton in 96) in a few years

Well, in the case of Hinds it's white flight to Madison and Rankin, whereas in Warren it's just a steady increase in A-A voters participation.  Maybe Adams county (Natchez) would be a better comp.
