Title: CARLHAYDEN has been gone for awhile
Post by: I spent the winter writing songs about getting better on February 20, 2013, 10:09:28 AM
I was wondering where he went, so I looked up his posts, and it seems that he posted some things blaming the Libyan ambassador's death on "Obama's policies in the Muslim world" (proof: Obama met with the President of Egypt but not Netanyahu, therefore that caused the Benghazi attack...something like that), and then vanished. I wonder if he just got ashamed after Bacon King owned him on the economic data distortion he was constantly doing.

I'd guess opebo misses him most of all.......given their polar opposite position on economics made for lengthy discussions.

His  hatred of browns was legendary.

Health permitting (he's an old; I've no clue how old) he'll be back, no worries.

He either died or realized Romney was going to lose earlier than anyone else and gave up.

Robert Stark > CARLHAYDEN

At least Stark was hilarious. CARL has about as much personality as one of the characters in Zero Dark Thirty.

This is wrong. He didn't show it often, but Carl had an extra dry sense of humour.

What was so hillarious about Stark? a neonazi scum is hardly "hillarious".

Not that much - there are always loads of people who believe that capitalist nonsense on here.

You weren't around for his glory days.

I liked CARLHAYDEN.  Admittedly, he was deeply fixated on immigration policy, and on the crimes committed by foreigners.  Also, he liked to play Socrates' game, picking everything you say apart and reducing it in abstract ways and reapplying it in the extreme.  I think it made him many enemies.  He was also a bit like Iago in Othello.  But overall but he was a well-informed poster with some interesting ideas.  More importantly, he had a sense of humor.

CARL's diplomatic skills were the null set. Even when on occasion something he said might have some substantive merit (and often it didn't), he phrased things in the most provocative manner possible to try pick a fight. I don't miss him.

I did get a chuckle that he kept calling me a "liberal" however. If I am a "liberal," just what does that make a majority of the forum, or at least a substantial plurality of it? :P

I too received the "liberal" label from him which was funny in its own way considering how some archprogressives here think I'm a conservative tool.  He definitely was an example of those who define politics and politicians only with regard to their own narrow bęte noire.

Nah, I hadn't recalled that, but then as that post you linked showed, he apparently did that only when pulling in a quote from a different thread, but was able to use the () button when quoting within a thread unlike most posters with odd quoting styles.  Besides, unlike some people here, I don't obsess on posting styles, so unlike some mods, I'd almost never be able to spot a sock on that basis.

Democrats? You're a poster child codger for Liberalism. If you use the correct application of the term.

You could have picked a better day to mention that.  Today is not a good day to be joking about holding people prisoner in one's house (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22438417). :P

That said, it was great news to wake up to this morning.  I can't wait to see what type of punishment those three guys will received.

Not a conservative tool, only stuck in the 18th century. :)

19th actually.  We could use a man like Grover Cleveland again.
