Title: Anyone else notice New Urbanist communities are often quite Republican?

They are often at least no more Democratic than the surrounding areas. Any ideas why? I suspect it's that they often are quite expensive to live in....and also serve as an alternative to people who want the convenience of urban living without having to live in a real urban environment.

Perhaps a higher concentration of people in the financial field

The American Conservative has written articles in favor of new urbanism.
