Most "grassroots activists" are idiots who have actually have no clue of the issues they are supposedly so passionate about, so that's not surprising. And yes, Draghi is a massive FF and every European should thank him.

Indeed.  A waiter did it to Tom Emmer here in MN back in 2010.  That's what separated the wheels from the axles on his campaign.  Cuz the conference was him defending his call to reduce waiter pay to $2.13/hour at the restaurant owned by the state GOP chairman.  The poetic symbolism warmed my heart.  You want your money!?  DROWN IN IT.

There is no such thing as a real "grassroots" movement. There is always an organizing core of intellectuals mobilizing their useful idiots one way or another.

The American Revolution of 1776 is actually a perfect example of this. There was no "grassroots" opposition to the British Empire. There were people who were deliberately manipulated by other people who wanted a revolution to advance the ideals of the Enlightenment. That was the reason for the Revolution. Nobody who mattered actually cared about taxes or representation.

Don't get me wrong it was for the greater good, but still.

I liked it better when pranksters threw pies at people instead of glitter. Glitter is insidious. Pies are just much, much funnier.
