Probably has to do with his 43/42 approval rating.

*Gasp* Clinton's going to lose Kentucky!? How will she ever win without it? Title: Re: PPP (KY) - All republicans but Trump in the lead Post by: Bandit3 the Worker on June 24, 2015, 12:51:21 PM PPP thinks the Democrats are doing almost as well at the presidential level in Kentucky as they are at the state level (if not better)???
Title: KY: Public Policy Polling: Clinton leads top-3 Republicans by about 6 Post by: Tender Branson on June 24, 2015, 12:58:54 PM New Poll: Kentucky President by Public Policy Polling on 2015-06-21 (https://uselectionatlas.org/POLLS/PRESIDENT/2016/polls.php?action=indpoll&id=2120150621108)
Summary: D: 41%, R: 47%, U: 12% Poll Source URL: Full Poll Details (http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/2015/PPP_Release_KY_62415.pdf) Title: Re: PPP (KY) - All republicans but Trump in the lead Post by: Tender Branson on June 24, 2015, 01:01:10 PM PPP thinks the Democrats are doing almost as well at the presidential level in Kentucky as they are at the state level (if not better)??? Bush/Walker/Rubio lead Clinton by an average of 6 points (see database entry just above). Bevin leads Conway by 2-3 in the Governors race. I think the Gov. race numbers are about right, but Clinton would likely lose KY by about 10 in the end (or even more). Bevin leads Conway by 2-3 in the Governors race. As a rule, the gap in Kentucky would be much wider than this.
