Title: Country Party
Post by: Cassius on July 20, 2015, 02:05:51 PM
What is the Country Party? What is it's purpose? Well, to put it simply, it is a party that aims to represent the interests of the inhabitants of small towns and rural areas, which, too often, are left behind and ignored by broader, catch-all parties, whose outlook and concerns are often dominated by a rather... metropolitan mindset. The countryside requires a party of its own to look after it and to represent its interests on the national stage.

This party is neither left-wing nor right-wing; instead one might say it is 'countryminded'. We do not believe in the dogma of Marx or Mises; instead, we support government intervention to promote prosperity and development in rural areas, whilst, at the same time, recognising that government spending is not a cure-all, and that free enterprise must also be promoted, to work alongside government initiatives to achieve the best possible results for the countryside.

However, we are not a revolutionary party; instead we support the traditional structures of society that have evolved, organically, over the course of human history. Our basic philosophy is to conserve and to improve, not to uproot and replant; to oppose radical change and extremism on either end of the political spectrum.

So, if you feel disillusioned or out of sympathy with the parties of the big-city slickers, and want a party that stands up for rural and small town interests, then this is the party for you.
