On the other hand, the Democratic challenger in 2010, Roxanne Conlin, also received around 30% of the vote. I think if he were actually seriously challenged, we might have a slightly competitive race. Dems, for whatever reason, have always been scared to challenge him, yet Harkin (except in 2008) was almost always seriously challenged.

Dems should think about gov race in 2018.
