How are you coming up with these maps? I've wondered how Cook shook out in last year's gubernatorial election.

I will do 2014 next. I am getting the city results from the Chicago BoE and the suburban results from the Cook County Clerk.

Spoiler: There will be a lot more blue in the 2014 map

So it mostly remained the same as 2008... no swing map?

PD: Your maps rock. Keep it up.

Thanks! As for swing, perhaps we'll see it. Would take longer, but also be interesting.

Don't know if they have results that far back, but '84 and '88 would be interesting to see as well.

I agree, although they do not have them readily available. I may be eager enough to send them an email just to see if there is any way of accessing them, though, because it would be really cool to compare.

Did more or less south side precincts vote unanimously for Obama than in 2008?
