Title: World Leaders Survivor - Bracket 4 (closed)
Post by: Hatman 🍁 on June 15, 2005, 11:02:15 pm
OK, this works like any other survivor. You vote for you want off the list. After the bracket is reduced in half, it will be merged with one of the other brackets. I will not be voting, so if there is a tie I will break it with my own vote. There will be immunity. The first poster will get to pick who he/she wants to be immune for each round. Each round will be 24 hours and will open and close at midnight Eastern. Voting in this bracket will remain here throught the game until it is merged with another.

You mean immunity for one day? Ok, seems fair. But, one will get a chance to try and get immunity again after a week. New rule: You only get 1 immunity per bracket every 7 days.

Would it not make more sense to eliminate two people per round? Otherwise this will take a long time and a large number of threads.

Long time yes, multiple threads - no. There are just 4 brackets (4 threads) for the first 24 rounds.  I am already eliminating 4 people a day as it is.

And perhaps the first one to post an immunity should be the person allowed to give it? :P

If I'm allowed to, using that rule, (I better post my suggestion right away, since someone else could beat me otherwise...;)) I say Sharon gets immunity.

LOL sorry. I guess one is allowed to abstain, and thence have no immunities in that round. So, sorry Hughento I have reversed my ruling (you havent chosen someone for immunity anyways). Huckleberry Finn, I know a good way for you to chose immunity. Be around at midnight EST. That might be 6 or 7am in Finland though. Probably not worth it.  hehe

What´s the deal with Scotty?
Nauru is basically an old mining colony of Australia. Now the phosphate is gone, so is much of the island, and the country is broke and serves (served) as an internment camp for refugees to Australia.

Ludwig Scotty.

There's nothing wrong with Voronin. He was democratically elected, his party wins fair elections, and he allows much more civil liberties than the government of Russia that the opposition supports.

Nothing wrong with Voronon?  Right, just like there's nothing wrong with Moldova, except maybe for crushing poverty perpetuated by failed economic policies.  Civil liberties?  I guess I should give him credit for allowing his people to leave the country so they don't starve.

I'll vote for Gerhard Schroeder.

So what do you suggest? How to attract investors to a country that has always been an isolated backwater, was never independent, probably should not be independent, and has no ressources to speak of?

I'm not saying there are easy solutions, but I'm sure that returning to Soviet-style land management is the wrong solution.
