Even though this is Gravis, I'm starting to get the feeling Tammy Baldwin could easily beat Ron Johnson if he ran again in 2018.

I have to say while WI and IL were always going to be very difficult for Republicans to hold this year, Kirk and Johnson have run exceptionally bad campaigns.

I still don't get why Kirk even bothered to run for reelection.

He likes the job, he pulled off some amazing victories in his house district in 2006/2008, and even in defeat, he probably gives Dold an extra point or two, which could make the difference in that district.

I think Dold narrowly wins, thanks to Kirk.

Once again Safe D.

Feingold is one of my least favorite Democrats running this year, but he's safer than safe, and outperforming Hillary. I wish Kirk or even Ayotte were running in Wisconsin, I don't like them but anything to stop Wellstone's old pal Feingold (the Warren and Sanders of the 1990's).

Yeah, I'll take Feingold over fake moderates like Bayh, Murphy or Kirkpatrick any day.

Good. At least this one seems to be holding.

It will be great to be rid of Ron Johnson, and to have Russ back in the Senate. :)

Why? He's going to be one of like, what, 5 good Senators once he reenters the Senate in January.
So, who are the other four in your opinion? (Let me guess:) Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Sherrod Brown, and Tammy Baldwin?

Feingold, as I mentioned, was the old face of the Senate far left, so I understand why Atlas progressives look forward to his return.

Yeah, I'll take Feingold over fake moderates like Bayh, Murphy or Kirkpatrick any day.
I do agree with that on one respect: People like Feingold will be easier to unseat than Murphy, Kander, Heitkamp, etc. since fake moderates can trick voters and entrench themselves.

The fat lady is singing loudly, except to many Republicans here who think Johnson has it in the bag due to "the polls lying".

Who does? I think the man hasn't led in a single poll taken for the race.

So would I, but for different reasons.

Local people on local social media who think the polls are lying and Johnson is ahead.

Eh, I was being hyperbolic I suppose: others I have a very favorable opinion besides those that you listed (though I forgot about Baldwin; she's fairly irrelevant compared to the others, which is strange considering she's a lesbian from a major swing state, so you'd think she'd have more hype on the national scale) include Merkley, Wyden, and Franken.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but this discussion made me realize how few progressive stars are in the Senate, which bugs me; with many of the heroes of the left such as Warren and Sanders rapidly approaching retirement age, and with Brown and Baldwin likely to be gone after 2019, it's a shame that there is no true heir to the movement in the chamber. After Kerry left, we could have replaced him with a Warren-type; instead, we get Markey's generic ass. This year, we had a chance to replace Mikulski with Edwards, who would've easily been among the best; instead, we get the most generic Democrat imaginable.

Hopefully people like Fetterman, Teachout, and Jayapal all achieve higher office.

Harris fits the bill pretty well, doesn't she?

Probably time to call this Race Safe D, Johnson is not coming back.

I think people are all blaming Johnson & Kirk here & there & Feingold is not getting the credit he deserves. The Dems are cutting ad buys as they believe Feingold will win easily. Kochs, Superpac & GOP have put a lot of money for their guy.

Feingold seems to be a strong candidate running a very strong campaign. 12% lead is a Huge result in a state like Wisconsin where Trump is doing pretty well (way better than 12% down)

I disagree. Johnson has run a great campaign.

Junk poll in Democratic direction - People take it seriously (Gravis)
Junk poll in Republican direction - People immediately call it junk. (Loras)

Hmmm...

^ I mean, the Loras poll was the first I've seen with Johnson up (let alone up outside the MoE).

This is the first poll I've seen in (at least, if ever) months with Feingold up double digits.

IIRC Marquette had one a few months ago that had Feingold up by double digits.
