I may be interested in doing one on a path to House Victory I see for Democrats in 2018. I literally went state by state. It is tough, but doable.

Certainly not as tough as it would  have been for Democrats to take the house in 2012 or 2014 in a neutral or lean dem environment. :)

Mechaman, by the way, has informed me that he is willing to do the show on the condition that it is an open format. He'd be down to be interviewed by either of you, but he stated his preference for Ebowed. You need to have him on. It'll be the tits. Make it like a three hour, free for all special.

That should be interesting since I grew up around a lot of people who were homeschooled from strict Christian backgrounds.  Though I wouldn't lump it in at all with "white nationalism"... race never really entered into it at all.  A black strict Christian was seen as much superior to a liberal, worldly heathen of any race.

Haven't listened to it yet, but there might be a difference between southern homeschooling in the "heart of dixie" vs. the Germans of the white (with snow) north.

Impressive job :)

The definition of ransacking is ‘to go through a place stealing things and causing damage’. With Donald Trump now sitting in the Oval Office, it is has become increasingly clear that his Administration has every intent to pillage America for the benefit of its friends and allies.

While attention has been paid to Trump’s many wide ranging conflicts of interest, relatively little scrutiny has been paid to the disturbing policy agenda that is being set out by Trump’s allies and appointees. When coupled with the various ethical conflicts that the President and some of these appointees bring, it paints a far deeper and more dangerous underlying picture of the new government than most anticipated.

During the course of the campaign, Trump ran as the outsider to the establishment and railed against ‘Crooked’ Hillary Clinton for her Wall Street links and her supposed corruption. Why the Democratic Party let a tax avoiding, union busting billionaire from Manhattan get away without any real equivalent scrutiny will be a mystery that stands the test of time, but it helped contribute to his victory.

Trump’s platform was always heavy on rhetoric and light on detail. Nonetheless the details that have become available, as well as the nominations Trump has made during the transition, all indicate that the Trump presidency will be a massive coup for big business, particularly fossil fuels energy, Trump’s allies and potentially Trump himself. This is not in of itself a surprise, but the extent to which these forces now directly control the government was largely not anticipated and is potentially unprecedented.

Many of the policies proposed by Trump during the campaign are significantly different in detail to what was promoted, and/or are directly and solely beneficial to industries and people close to and involved in the new administration.

I tend to be online to read, and not to listen, but I'd like to get around to these things eventually. I can't imagine that my own "expertise" would be good for any topics y'all discuss, though I am a college student, so that could be something.

We also mock low energy loser Ann Wagner and sprinkle in a bit of Missouri politics, and we also briefly discuss why automated riot control may not be such a good idea. I am doing a second one quite soon. I was a bit rushed at the end as policy proosals to solve this issue can not be discussed in five minutes.

So the second one will be on policy proposals.

But ultimately automation causes labor disruption and not necessarily a net job loss.

It is sort of looking like this in the outline right now:

1. Hot take or Junk Poll
2. Main Topic: Solutions to Automation
A) Could conservatives be right about minimum wage and regulation [to an extent maybe and this will obviously be short)
B) proposal on tax on technology? [maybe to a small extent but it could backfire with outsourcing]
C) Universal Basic Income [how do you fund it???]
D) Education/Training. Shift yourself with the job market.
E) Best solution (We will pick)
3. Junk Poll, Low Energy Loser, or Resistance Report


I honestly want to cut the hot take/junk poll and the last part off and just focus on the solutions. It takes a long time to discuss. Automation impacting or "destroying" jobs will certainly be a more persuasive issue going forward but I think the impact on job loss is way overblown.

I do not think we should fear raising the minimum wage based on robots taking low level positions because 1) Automation is coming, 2) these industries often demand a humanized touch and 3) businesses may be put in a catch 22. If everything is automated they save money but there are less people with jobs and thus less people able to purchase their goods.

With that I could already seeing conservatives argue against any form of universal basic income as they would say, "it would encourage companies to automate more and put more people out of work"

And of course this issue also can be awkward to cruel to discuss. Think of how disheartened some people could be, often through unfortunate life circumstances, of being told that they have to be paid a low wage or they could lose their job to a robot! Paying someone minimum wage is is basically saying you want to pay that employee less but you can not because it is illegal.

Tax on technology and businesses.. could back fire if business put their headquarters overseas.

I think right now the best solution is to just deal with it and go with the flow and depend on education and training to access new positions.

But it is worth noting those positions are less numerous compared to taco bell cashiers.

This is an issue governments just are not prepared to deal with and overblown or not it will have to be dealt with.

     This most recent episode looks really interesting. I have been having earbud problems, but once I get it sorted out I am definitely listening to it.

She is not an unbeatable titan and never has really had to face a competitive race. Though I do agree she would be a strong candidate against McCaskill than Hawley.

And even if a candidate is over rated it does not mean they will lose. Blunt was overrated and Kander was underrated early in the campaign but Blunt still won and Kander still lost at the end.

and the second half may be entirely related to automation to evade something like this.

And perhaps Wagner would be the front runner to the US Senate with no question if her staff and her self would actually respond to her damn constituents.

     Kind of hard to make the case McCaskill is overrated when we constantly hear about how she is going to get Blanched.

Huh? Everyone here is saying that Hawley and Wagner are paper tigers and that McCaskill is in a good position for reelection because she is a "battle-tested, underestimated incumbent". Heck, some people here think that she is less vulnerable than Manchin, Heitkamp and Tester, which is ridiculous. I don't know why so many blue avatars here have joined this weird McCaskill fan club, lol.

Anyway, this was a nice episode. I look forward to the next one.

Naw, she'll merely get Claired out of office.

There has not been a single public poll of her versus random Republicans yet. Let's hold our horses first.

Czar Nick Tweed hosts the return of Averroes, AFR's Distinguished Vice Czar for Political Economy (Healthcare). This wide ranging, over-hour long tape constitutes Pts I-II of the three-part Interview.

Pt I: In this segment Czar Nick begins to debrief Averroes on the GOP health care plan/Better Care Reconciliation Act, but derails the conversation multiple times with rants on topics ranging from the detrimental effects of excessive rationalization of health care for the hospital patient to the "failed" treatment industry.
