Vote and discuss. I enabled the poll to include 3 selections per user.

The worst generation in history, but what do you expect from a generation raised by the boomers?

Not as good as the Boomers (the best generation), but not irredeemably terrible.

The single greatest generation of all time.

This explains a lot.

I can't honestly answer this question because pat "generational" understandings of sociocultural trends are stupid.

You know the oldest are 37, right?

Not the best cohort in aggregate, but I really have to agree with this post:

I can't honestly answer this question because pat "generational" understandings of sociocultural trends are stupid.

These generational divides are silly and largely worthless.  For example, as a 21-year old born in 1996, that makes me either a late millennial or early Gen-Z.  If I am a late millennial, does that really mean I have more in common with a 37-year old born in 1980 than a 18 year-old born in 1999?  Or, if you would call that early Gen-Z, do I really have more in common with a toddler (are newborns today still considered Gen-Z, or is there something new) than a 23 year-old born in 1994?

Generations are arbitrary... but so are ethnicities, so are gender roles, etc.

Not positive.  But sadly my opinion of most people is not. :(

this is true, obviously, but it's pretty lazy cop out to avoid discussing something that at least exists in popular consciousness. coincidentally "shutting down potentially meaningful discussion over something petty" will be high on my upcoming listicle 20 Reasons Millenials Are Still Just the Worst (#4 Will Make Your Man Bun Flaccid)

I fail to see what "meaningful discussions" will arise out of "muh millennials!".

While I think it can be helpful to think about generational divides (e.g. the difference between 30-year-olds now and 30-year-olds in 1990) these arbitrary divisions are not helpful, especially groups as broad as the millennials. I voted FF, but it's a pretty meaningless question.

To respond to swallow a knife's post, while the word "millennial" exists in popular consciousness, I don't think anyone makes generalizations about everyone between the ages of ~16 and ~37 in real life.
