1. Sanders - Far from perfect, obviously, but is definitely the candidate (and major American politician, unfortunately) most aligned with my views.
2. Clinton - She's absolute scum, both from a political and personal standpoint, but given that she's not a Republican, she obviously gets the second spot here.

Here's where things get tricky:

3. Trump - Donald Trump might very well be the worst human being to ever serve as President of the United States, and that's exceptionally impressive considering that like half of our Presidents quite literally owned slaves. That being said, the man is so hilariously inept at governing that I'll give him the leg up on the other Republicans here, though I might change my answer if he really ends up going to war with North Korea or something.
4. Kasich - Putting aside his "gee, shucks" gimmick, the man is a hard-right austeritarian at his core & would gladly rip up the New Deal in it's entirety if he could, and given that he'd be working with a Speaker Paul Ryan, he sure as hell would. Remember, this is the same scumbag who introduced the PRWORA in the first place.
5. Cruz - It's not even worth discussing just how horrifying this man is.

Why are some Democrats choosing Kasich over Sanders? You do understand that Kasich is, you know, a Republican, right?
If this ballot were to be included, Clinton would have won.
Also, some democrats are moderate. They might be closer to the center-right than the far-left.

Okay, I'm not quite sure what your first sentence even means in relation to my post, and your second sentence displays a hilariously linear understanding of politics unworthy of response, but I'll bite anyway:

Why would any Democrat prefer someone who is:

- a supporter of phasing out the ACA
- a supporter of right-to-work
- anti-income tax
- a proponent of for-profit prisons
- most importantly, someone who would pick a Republican for the SC

among the many other right-wing positions he holds? To be fair, some of them are probably shared by Tory Dems such as yourself (charter schools, etc.), but still, I can't imagine why y'all would prefer Kasich to a pretty standard social democrat? Even as a socialist, I'd much prefer someone as different from me ideologically as Clinton to any of the monsters on the GOP side.
In positions, I'm roughly equidistant from the two, and I trust Kasich a hell of a lot more.
