The first Arab American in Congress was a Democrat, surprisingly enough.

It's only 6 people, I don't take small samples in congress like that. Have a dozen or so members in congress before you're taken you seriously.

Lol, my conservative state had a liberal Arab Senator in the 1970s (serving alongside McGovern, no less).

Anyway, impressive how well those of Lebanese descent have been represented politically.

Wait a minute. Lebanese are not "Arabs". Issa is not Arab, he is Lebanese. Darin LaHood is also Lebanese. The inclusion of Lebanese as "Arabs" is a grave insult to the ethnic group and is cultural imperialism. The whole reason there is a Lebanese diaspora is because of modern internal Arab conquest of their land from the east, thanks to the border drawn by the French colonial Empire after WWI.

Is there a single one of these people who are actually Arabs? The Arab American Institute is culturally imperialist, they'd probably include Israelis or Persians as Arabs if they could get away with it.
