Besides, the Syrian Kurds are allied with Assad and Russia as well as with the United States. The Iraqi Kurds are aligned with Turkey and thus could not be counted on to help fight ISIS. Especially if you try and glue all the Kurdistans together in some sort of Frankenstein abomination, like some people suggest.
