Republicans have two frontrunners who live in the district (two polls show Kim and Huff in the top two (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_of_Representatives_elections_in_California,_2018#District_39)). Thorburn could also make the runoff instead of Cisneros despite running in a district with its Democratic base in largely Hispanic LA County communities.
