There are 2 VRA Districts, both are Safe Democratic (numbered as the 2nd and 5th). The other 6 are Safe Republican. The only County split is in Jefferson County, which is inevitable due to its high population, and while I could have placed a District entirely inside its borders, I decided against it in favor of creating a 2nd VRA District. Note that Roy Moore managed to lose the 8th District by a few thousand votes, and he only won the 1st District by a few hundred votes.
