Leading up to the elections on Feb 26, I'll be setting the stage with various historical maps. I'll map the 2/26 elections afterward in the lead up to the expected run off in April, upon which I'll map that. Obviously it is a bit of a mixed bag, but a couple of trends stick out - aldermen and women from the nearer NW side (Wicker, Logan, Irving Park, etc) are generally good, those representing downtown are not very good, and despite demographic changes, the aldermen and women from the far NW and SW sides are still very bad (in line with history), except for John Arena. Main things I got wrong: Daley didn't do as well with Latinx voters as expected and Wilson and Joyce did better than expected
