Great clip. The Congresswoman is awesome. Abrams is acting like a crybaby and completely disrespectful.

(I kind of don't want to say it, but I doubt Abrams would have reacted the same way to a white Christian man).

I don’t know how Abrams other then pure arrogance can think the questions raised by Omar about his past on lying to Congress during Iran-contra or his support of the mass murdering 1980’s government in El Salvador are out of bounds issues

Abrams is an arrogant neocon.  Full of crap.  That doesn't erase Omar's hatred for Jews.  Those two only prove that there is diversity in the sewer.

Oh, so this is why Republicans want her off the House Foreign Relations Committee.

Wow. Credit where credit is due. That was a brilliant line of questioning by Omar, and it made me proud to be a progressive Democrat in the national security field. "Thank you for your participation." definitely has the potential to become a thing when questioning Trump's folks.

Couldn't wait to throw a little bit of 'both sides-ism' in there

The two Pennsylvania Democrats on this thread are a perfect example of why people like Fuzzy Bear are no longer welcome in the Democratic Party.

As for Omar, this is just more grandstanding on her part. It's amazing how arrogant so many politicians are.

Well thank god wanting to shove gays into the closet or hating “agitating” inner-city youth is not acceptable to one party in our political system.

A reactionary who compares immigrants to zombies is no longer welcome in the Democratic Party? I’m devastated

So you want the Democratic Party to become the party of wine-track liberals, "socially" aware suburbanites, and out of touch urbanites? Well then, that is your preference.

Fuzzy Bear aligns with the Democrats closely on many economic issues, and he's far from a war hawk or a neo-conservative. But I guess those positions don't matter to you.

Being rational on some of the issues doesn’t mean you are rational on all of them. Attacking the same American people so as to get a little more benefit from the elite doesn’t get you any kudos from me.

So my guess is that you would rather have a socially liberal, fiscally conservative suburbanite in the Democratic Party than a socially conservative, fiscally liberal middle-class or working-class voter?

Those socially liberal folks skew Republican to benefit their stock returns, so this rhetoric is ineffective anyway. Either way ,this is far off topic to delve further in this thread than what has already been laid down.

Social conservatism is the very thing that enables bad economic and foreign policy. If neo-cons had to run on their economic and foreign policy they would get trounced. Instead they have weaved themselves into the Christian and social conservative communities by embracing wedge issues, hollow patriotism, and repressive traditionalism to then pass terrible legislation that hurts that very same base. Which never seems to get the base to revolt and instead entrenches them to believe they are under attack from all sides.

Without those voters, Democrats would not have taken back control of the House. So yes, the Party is becoming more dependent on them.

Given that you're capable of much invective and much profanity, as evidenced by your behavior on Atlas After Dark, this response of yours is true to form. For the record, I don't think Abrams should be defended for his past. But that still doesn't excuse Omar's behavior towards him.

The clip literally ends with him answering a question "No!" and her saying "I'll take that as a yes". Only someone extremely partisan would think Abrams was the one being disrespectful.

I have no horse in this race. They both suck.

I really didn't know what to expect until watching the video just now. Her questions were dead-on. Abrams has a really well documented history of both supporting Maurice right-wing death squads when conservatives thought it would support American interests against the evil left-wing Moscow controlled socialist, and equally well trade history of lying to Congress to further those aims. Asking him dead blank whether or not he would support such groups if he thought it was in the American best interest was an extremely reasonable and well thought-out question. Abrams refusal to even attempt answering it, no matter how nuanced he wished to make the answer, was extremely telling.

What is someone with his record doing Within a country mile of American foreign policy? The fact that disgraced retreads like him, John Poindexter, Etc keep popping up in the bush and now Trump Administration is nothing more then a combination of laughable and disgraceful. Trumpy I suppose is the correct new adjective

Trump needs to revisit just why he has neocon types like Abrams on his foreign policy team when he campaigned for an America First agenda, which by its very nature is supposed to be against all of this never ending interventionism.  Glad to see Omar give a neocon a rough day.

I dislike Abrams's foreign policy a great deal, but I'm not liking Omar at all either. I bet some people see her yell mean things at someone you don't like and go "YASS QUEEEN", but Abrams has a point - she clearly didn't give him a chance to explain his actions and her questions had a big "when did you stop beating your wife" kind of thing.

Compare and contrast Omar's badgering with what this other congresswoman did. Omar did a horrible job compared to this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHD-M1AG7Hs

Omar has horrifying views and was disrespectful. Abrams is a bit of a zealot but the world hates us either way so we might as well just do everything we can to f$!% our enemies, who tend to be horrid anyway.

There was nothing disrespectful about questioning someone assertively who's entered guilty pleas in the past (should have been convicted of treason for Iran Contra), and nothing about her views are horrifying that I've read about.
