Title: NJ: Why doesn't Bret Schundler run for statewide office anymore?
Post by: Suburbia on April 09, 2019, 04:42:23 PM
In the 2000s, Schundler was the darling of movement conservatives in New Jersey and nationally in the Bush era.

He was the former Jersey City mayor---a boon to the Jersey City GOP in the 1990s--a white Republican who governed a majority minority city.

He lost the 2001 gov election to Jim McGreevey, lost the 2005 GOP primary to rich RINO Doug Forrester and then served as Education Commissioner to Gov. Chris Christie, until he was fired.

Because Christie absolutely railroaded him out of the NJGOP and state government entirely in 2010.
