Title: TN House Republicans and Gov. Lee call for Speaker Glen Casada (R) to resign

Vote in the House Republican conference was 45-24 in favor of Casada's resignation in a nonbinding vote.  Casada has had a whole slew of moral issues related to racist and sexist texts between him and his former Chief of Staff.

Casada is also my state rep in the House, so it's possible we could have a special election soon.

It's a little different because the worst of the actions were from a subordinate, but Casada clearly did engage in inappropriate behavior.

Speaker Casada has announced his intent to resign the speakership but not his seat:

I will vote for whoever runs against him in the primary in 2020.

Even if they're pro-choice?

That's very unlikely, but if that situation somehow happened, neither choice would be acceptable.  Fortunately, I live in that district and am eligible to run for that seat myself, which I would do in that situation.

In other words: "I'm NOT going anywhere" UGH. Sounds like TN has a Marcos-esque problem.
