The 234 electoral votes of 1864 + the additional 60 electoral votes of 1868 added after most of the Confederate states had been restored to the Union + 10 (VA) + 7 (MS) + 6 (TX), based off the number of Senators & Representatives which those states were granted when they were finally restored to the Union in 1870. |
