My brave brothers and sisters marched on despite flash bombs, glass bottles and rocks being thrown at the parade. Once again the Church was the handmaiden to the protests.

Just another day I'm so ashamed of happens in my country that I can't even think of anything else I could write.

EDIT: actually, there's one thing I'd like to add. The successive governments since 1989 have been enabling far-right militants either by pretending they're just a fringe segment, not worth looking into, or by actively encouraging toxic sentiments for its own political goals, like the current leaders.

Poland is going down a dark path.

It seems the police actually arrested violent instigators, which makes them far more impressive than the American police, which typically sits on their ass and does nothing with regards to cement-throwing thugs.

do you have any examples that don't involve Portland?

The 9th Circuit, generally not considered a bastion of conservatism, has acknowledged that the City of San Jose intentionally sparked political violence by throwing right-wing protestors and Antifa types in one crowd and then immediately standing down.

American police in large urban areas, presumably the areas that require most of the policing, have consistently proved themselves worthless.

Debunked, and you’re whatabouting a thread about right-wing gay bashing in Poland to take it off topic. Let’s stay on topic—the attack on pride marchers in Bialystok.

Ah, another actually totally false right wing "talking point"?

I'm shocked.

When I saw the thread title, my first thought was when did the fashion police start doing such things? For me "fash" does not bring to mind the fascists that I believe the OP meant to refer to. Also, I deplore the sloppy use of fascism as a short hand for right wing positions in general. It's as sloppy as using socialism as a short hand for all left wing positions. Fascism refers to a specific set of political positions that doesn't directly include being anti-LGBT, save for the fact that being pro-LGBT is generally associated today with being pro-individual rights, whereas a prime tenet of Fascism is anti-individualism.

While I can appreciate a counter protest for traditional family values against an unneeded and disruptive march that was a complete show and waste of police time and resources as well as public, the manner of this was wrong and am thankful for the police intervening to stop anything worse from happening.

Yes, them homos should have stayed at home and hide their shameful perversion in some closet, not go out turning our innocent children gay by having a march. That's just wrong.
