The EB-5 visa has generated a great deal of controversy via abuse by foreign investors, and abuse by our government by promoting this program as an easy path to a green card as long as they're willing to pay (a problem we've seen IRL). This eliminates a sketchy and unnecessary program, and still allows a viable option for innocent existing applicants that would potentially be harmed if totally eliminated through the H-1B visa program.

Under the EB-5 visa program people who invest over $500,000 into financing an Atlasian business are eligible for a green card. This is nothing more than bribing the government to let them in. I'll be supporting this bill.

I’ve had a lot of disagreement with fhtagn but this isn’t one of them.

Im sure those 10 American workers are gonna be happy they are now unemployed because we need to kick out one foreigner. Sure could you guys increase oversight? Yeah but its absurd to completely remove a program like this.

This is a disgusting bill.

Like 90% of awarded visas went to rich chinese and few of these jobs are permanent. Terry McAuliffe and Tont Rodham sold a bunch in Virginia so a car company could open ... never opened but the visas weren't rescinded. EB5 is a scam by the rich. Canada was smart enough to eliminate their version; we merely suspended it in game last year.

At first it sounds ok to eliminate speacial visas for rich but I wouldn't want people to lose jobs. Someone suggested better oversight of the program. It could be a solution to excesses.

Just remember, as far as "losing jobs" this program was suspended in Atlasia more than a year ago, so I dont see this as costing existing jobs ... the argument would be that it reduces potential future jobs.

This seems like a pretty common sense bill that's for the national benefit of Atlasia.
