Title: Can Rick Scott be president in 2024?
Post by: Plankton5165 on September 21, 2019, 01:49:12 AM
He used to be Florida governor and now he is a senator.

The thing is, he would be 72 when elected, the oldest first term to be elected. (I thought 73)

If Trump wins in 2020, Scott probably couldn't win with likely heavy Republican fatigue but if he's up against an incumbent Democratic president than he may have a shot depending on how they're doing.

Desantis would win all 50 states+DC each by 1 vote! He’d have a 51 vote lead nationally.

Vice President Kamala Harris (D-CA) / UN Ambassador Pete Buttigieg (D-IN)
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) / Fmr. Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC) ✓

Scott runs with Trump's blessing and wins with the Trump coalition minus a suburban revolt. It's not because he would be an awe-inspiring candidate or anything, turnout would just fall sharply. Funny enough, this is a 306 EV victory again according to 270toWin's projected 2020 census map.

Since Biden's term expires on January 20, 2025, Rick Scott cannot be prez in 2024 unless Biden or Harris appoint him VP and step down.
