Title: Which of these billionaires is most likely to become president?
Post by: Cassandra on October 09, 2019, 08:53:06 PM
Fun fact, most of the 300 wealthiest Americans are over 65. I had to go down to #288 to fill out this list. I thought about excluding all heirs, but ultimately there's no reason why someone like Carl Cook can't run for president if he wanted to. It's not difficult to buy positive press when you have billions of dollars at your disposal.

Only the first three seem to have any inkling of a desire to run for public office, so I’d say one of them in this order: Zuckerberg > Bezos > Gates

I don’t know. Out of these, I guess I’d consider supporting Lukas Walton, so him?

Gates has repeatedly said he doesn’t want to involve himself in politics by running for office, so not him.

Was Sergey Brin born a US citizen?

Bezos is vain enough to think he could be President and power-hungry enough to desire the office.

I'm counting on him changing his mind.

Voted for Zuckerberg because of his age/wealth advantage, but with all the negative press for FB I don't think he'll be a viable candidate until 2028 at the earliest.

Out of these choices, Gates would be by far the strongest candidate in 2024.

He didn’t do the typical denial, but he said, “I want to work with politicians, not be a politician.” or something of the kind. Seems pretty genuine to me, and I can’t imagine saying, “President Bill Gates”.
