I learned that Ken Rothman and Richard Stone died this year. Let's not forget guys like Fritz Hollings and Richard Lugar.

Virginia was an afterthought then, but the victories of guys like Baliles and Wilder signaled the beginning of demographic patterns that would make Virginia the first Lean D Southern state since 1960. |
