Would Jesse Ventura have won reelection as governor of Minnesota if he chose to run in 2002?

No way; his personality was just way too combative with both the state DFL & GOP as well as the press. Indeed, in 2002, it was pretty clear that he wouldn't have won a second term. (http://www.nytimes.com/2002/06/19/us/gov-ventura-says-he-won-t-seek-re-election.html)

He didn't make much of an effort to really work with either party, & antagonized leaders from both sides instead of putting any effort toward coalition-building. As his term went on, there were fewer & fewer people willing to work with him, with no consequences for their reluctance. Plus, his relationship with the press was downright toxic & juvenile (printing "Media Jackals" on press passes, blaming the press when his son's friends trashed the Governor's mansion, etc.).
