The page is constantly freezing for a minute when you click the post button.

This forum really sucks right now.

5 minutes until a posting gets through ...

I have no problems with other websites.

Still not better.

Still takes a few minutes and a freeze until some posts get through ...

Well, sometimes (maybe each half hour) the website is loading for about one of two minutes while any other websites are working. But I didn't experience any problems with posting itsself, especially not for that amount of time.

Only on the Moderator's Corner, but that's because it's overloaded by Virginia's hot girls thread.

I don't know what the exact problem you were having that day was but as part of an update I've been working on over the past couple weeks, I have identified a number of database queries that are causing large bottlenecks in performance and have come up with some optimizations and code changes to help reduce the impact of those issues. I am working with Dave to get them implemented in the near future.

Thank you Virginia and Dave working on this and invest some of your time to make this stuff work. Needs to be said from time to time.

I have the same problem.

Yeah, I frequently have a problem with the forum hanging for a couple of minutes.  It's not limited to when I post though.  It can just be browsing.  It'll just sit there when I click on a post or whatever, and then a few minutes later it's OK.  This has been an issue for the forum for years and years, but right now seems to be a bit worse than the historical average.

It can take upwards of 10 minutes for anything in the mod cave to load for me.

Yes, I often run into the situation where it can take 5-10 min for a post to actually go through, and as I wait I start to wonder if I got banned again. I don't like that feeling, so I will be grateful when this issue eventually gets fixed. I suppose it's mostly due to the growth of the userbase of this site.

Part of it is my fault. The new top posters over past 30 days statistics on the stats page takes forever to query as it takes time to search through millions of messages, and that slows down everything on the forum while it processes (taking up to 5-6 minutes to complete). Working on having it only reload statistics twice a day. Another issue is some users were constantly sorting topics by Subject earlier and that is also another resource-intensive operation that is simply not feasible for a forum this large on the current server.

Will try and get it fixed tonight or tomorrow.

edit: Should be fixed now. I'd expect that particular page to cause some lag twice a day, but that's it. Also, sorting topics by Subject is now disabled because of load issues it was causing.

This is a larger issue with the interaction between the MySQL link, the server etc.

It happens on page load from Google.

This is what I get now sometimes when I load Atlas threads.

After 30 seconds of waiting, it comes up with this:

Dave need to fix the website again, when there is an overload of users, you cant log on

Solution: remove enough users.
