Title: NH-1 2020: Mowers in
Post by: free my dawg on January 15, 2020, 12:26:31 PM

For NH-1, former NHGOP executive director/State Department official Matt Mowers (R-Bedford) has decided to jump in. Guy was fairly close to Tillerson, and actually got his start in Christie's NJ office. Generally seems to be running as your average Republican.

He faces state rep William Fowler (R-Seabrook), and is likely to face former city councilman/NHGOP vice chair Matt Mayberry (R-Dover) in the primary.

Not sure we can call the CoS of OGAC (and a heavily politicized plant of the administration, no less) a "diplomat" but ok.

Safe D indeed.

Dems hopefully will sweep every office, in NH, so that Sununu doesnt run against Hassan and Volinsky wins Gov. There is a minimum wage Bill making it's way thru state legislators

Is there a reason why this guy is notable enough to have his own thread instead of in the general Congressional thread?

I mean the thread title is NH 2020 not NH-01. It's probably just news to kick off the general Congressional thread for New Hampshire races this year.

There isn't much news coming out of NH-2. It's looking like a rerun of 2018, with Kuster running against one of Lynne Blankenbeker (right-wing loon) or Steve Negron (who's fresh off of a 13-point loss).

Down with Sununu and the state GOP, NH Gov will get competetive, since Sununu vetoed a state minimum wage bill and the Dems supported by Volinsky is resurrecting it again. Get ready for those ARG polls that will show NH Gov competetive. The state GOP is in disarray in NH and Dems will sweep every office

Mowers’ first general election ad (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5aX1TuClsQ&feature=emb_title) stars Sununu.

The campaign has now become virulently homophobic. Mowers essentially alleged that Pappas was sleeping with an Amazon lobbyist for votes. In reality, he's in a committed relationship with someone who used to lobby for them and the one "pro-Amazon" vote cited was an immigration bill.

Cannot wait for Pappas to end this homophobic piece of ****'s career.
