Title: UAW
Post by: Flying Dog on November 12, 2003, 05:53:09 PM
Overshadowed by the SEIU and AFSCME endorsement of Howard Dean.  The local Iowa UAW union endorsed Gephardt for president.  With 36,000 members in Iowa it puts Gephardts union support at 96,000.  With an estimated turnout of 100,000 people in the iowa caucases well you do the math

But a lot of union workers also are NRA members and members of other groups that traditionally vote for GOP.  Plus many resent having to pay dues then having those dues used against the GOP.  I talk to union friends all the time and they HATE that.

i agree but if only a third of union members go out and vote for gephardt he will probally win. and that does not include there familys and plus seniors. Im predicting a gep win by 5-10 points
