Generally what strikes me is how few people have negative ratings; then again, I suppose that as a Senator you don't ever have to take personal responsibility for really unpopular policies, unlike a Governor who may have to increase taxes or cut services and gets personally blamed. Allard has always been controversial. He is a very conservative Senator in a state that was never very conservative and moving pretty quickly to the other side. The whole situation with Inhofe is odd. I thought he was popular. Still my point remains no liberal and probably no moderate Democrat (just conservative ones) will be elected in OK anytime soon |
