None really; I guess maybe the Thriller album by Michael Jackson would come the closest simply given what Michael Jackson has turned into. Kids nowadays probably have no idea how big of a deal he was in the 80's and even into the early 90's; I recall when he was first accused of molesting children and his speech responding to the charges against him was aired on national tv by all of the networks, preempting their regular prime time programming. I don't think there is any musician nowadays who could ever command that type of an audience.

Hey! nobody should ever be embarrased for liking Micheal Jackson (for his music)

anyways I'll say the stuff they play at work, oldies and some pop songs-I can't really name specifics... well, Jason Mraz is on the list...

Hey now . . . ABBA ROCKS!  :)  No shame in that.  :)

Hmmm . . . songs I feel guilty about?  Probably "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story.  One of my employees and I were in a phase of singing that song while prancing around the office like fairies (no offense) to make everyone laugh.  That song has stuck with me ever since.  hahaha

lol, I concur with Dancing Queen. "The Sign" by Ace of Base is also another one of my guilty pleasures. And Michael Jackson, as with all 80s music, owns.

In fact, I basically like all music from the 1960s to the 1990s, rap and country being exceptions.

That's hilarious Gabu.  I actually like the Abba song "Fernando," though I absolutely loathe "Dancing Queen."

I have a number of songs that I feel guilty about liking, and wouldn't admit to liking to most people, but I can't think of one now.  I'll have to go downstairs and look through my CDs.

"You're Tearin' Up my Heart"?
"Bye Bye Bye"?
"Its Gonna Be Me"?
"God Must Have Spent a Little More Time On You"?

And no I'm not an n'sync fan, I just have a good memory when it comes to songs. Just not the recent Hip Hop pablum which is always "featuring" someone no one's ever heard of.

I hate "SexyBack", Justin sounds like a drag queen (ugh)

For Abba, I like not only Dancing Queen, but Fernando, Mama Mia, Waterloo and The Winner Takes it all.

I felt really guilty when I liked "Addicted" by Simple Plan.

"Breathless"
"Dancing Queen"
"Heaven Is a Place on Earth" - Belinda Carlisle = HOT
"Graduation Song (Friends Forever)" - DON'T LISTEN TO IT OFTEN...TOO SAD

Prolly more.

It's funny, alot of songs from 2001, I didn't care for at the time, but I enjoy now because they remind of that pre-9/11 mood.

It's a nice song, and it was written and sung by someone who was brought up less than a mile from where I live. The words are a load of b*llocks though.

You two really should have grown up in my era.  :)  I'm just upset that I never got to see them in concert back then.  I do remember wasting a few hours in Singapore watching the ABBA movie at a local lounge.  It was funny hearing their songs sung by a few drunk locals with their heavy Chinese accents.  hahaha

The Pina Colada Song--I can't remember who sings it, I can't help but sing along.   :P

Ok...I have to come clean. I found a new song that I like. I heard it on the radio and, while it has some weird lyrics, I have to admit that it is a good one. I'm going to hate myself for this one:

Depends on whether I'm sober or not. Ply me with booze and watch yours truly dance to some of the most godawful Europop trash you can imagine. U96 and Boney M don't sound all that bad after seven pints of ale.

Other than that, I do have a soft spot for Haddaway's "What Is Love", purely for nostalgic reasons. There's also a few J-pop songs I quite like. Not sure whether I should feel guilty about it, but it does tend to pull me down in people's coolness rankings.

I hate heartbreak songs.  It's one step above a Barbra Streisand song.

I think there's a distinction that has to be drawn between genuine heartbreak songs and BS heartbreak songs. Bearing in mind that the Abba song was written and recorded when both couples were going through a divorce, hence it being the only unfeigned thing they ever recorded. In fact, it makes the whole thing even more moving - it's like "Ok, we've been doing bullcrap pop music until now, but now we have to be honest with each other."

ABBA rock. No shame in that. Best pure-pop band ever.

Make up your mind.

The Pina Colada Song--I can't remember who sings it, I can't help but sing along.   :P

Rupert Holmes, who also wrote "Timothy."

OOH!  I love Boney M.. never heard of them till I came to Thailand - popular here.

I also like Morlam:

There are so many more - just search for 'morlam' or lam lao.  A member named Khalilullah has the best tracks.  The poppier morlam is what is played on the buses here as you travel around!  Thai Country Music: attention StatesRights.
