Title: Re:Delaware --- Region? Post by: TeePee4Prez on July 17, 2004, 04:51:22 PM Mid-Atlantic. Most of population is in Wilmington-Newark corridor along I-95. Mid-Atlantic mentality and a Philadelphia accent. South of Dover is Dixie except for shore points.

Title: Re:Delaware --- Region? Post by: TeePee4Prez on July 17, 2004, 04:58:01 PM The Delmarva Peninsula with the exception of the shore points are basically in Dixie. Farming is HUGE and Southern accents a plenty. Also strong GOP territory. The Pine Barrens of Southern NJ are the same way without the Southern accents.

That's close to what I've said before I agree as well. In my visits there is a significant transition from Wilmington to Dover. I'd consider the shore area to be a mix of Dixie and NJ coast in style and attitude. Title: Re:Delaware --- Region?
