Title: Tough position for Hillary
Post by: agcatter on January 04, 2008, 11:25:12 AM
She is going to have to go negative to pull Obama's numbers down.  The problem with that is that Hillary's weakness has always been her likability.  To go negative amplifies that weakness.

Uh oh.

Obama's Victory speech was AMAZING.

He "really" painted Hillary into a corner....

He will get a bounce, and with only 5 days till New Hampshire to have an impact Hillary needs to go massive negative.

I have always been torn about the Dem race.

I would love to see Hillary lose, but Hillary is also the only candidate the GOP could actually beat, so if the Dems nominate anybody but Hillary the fall electiion will be a dull one.

Oh well.

Despite my better judgement, I am starting to think Obama winning may be good for America.

His speech was excellent.  And yes, I agree that Hillary is no doubt the beatable of the two.

As has been said before, the Democratic Party has been good for the Clintons, but the Clintons are bad for the Democratic Party.

Between you and John Dibble, if even Libertarians are starting to come around for Obama, you know he's got something special going on. ;)

All those attacks on Obama's supposed trillion dollar tax hike seemed to have worked.

Though, like I said, I wouldn't vote for the other guy. We really can't afford a GOP dynasty.

Obama's Victory speech was AMAZING....

It was basically the same stump speech themes he's been giving ever since 2004. It's no surprise that he's a great speaker. I think anyone would concede that. The problem is that the speech is essentially a set of glittering generalities that almost all the candidates would agree with. It has almost no substantive content. It simply uses indisputable themes and expresses them far more eloquently than George W. Bush. Obama has had 4 years to expand, flesh out, and multidimensionalize himself since his DNC speech. However, he's acted like someone who gave a great speech and won the lottery, and will just keep riding the wave of that lottery, terrified at any minute that it will break.
