Tuesday & Wednesday

Watch MSNBC, CNN, and ABC until my head explodes....then add on the countless hours i'll be spending on the internet and websites [including this forum] both days. I figure im not going to see the light of day for much of next week due to this.

Supe Tuesday - Go to school, go to work, get home sometime in the evening and then follow the returns (online, chat, TV coverage).

I don't have to get up until 10:40 the next morning so I'll be up until my usual time Tuesday night (usually 3 AM).

I'll be working, but will take over the TV during lunch.

Then monitor online.

Tuesday  morning before work, vote for Obama.  Go to work, if I can walk over to the Giants parade.  Come home from work go to my bowling leage, constantly checking the updates on my cell, go home watch the results for several hours.

I've got a class from 6:30-9:30 Pacific Time.  Except for that time, I'll probably just be here while periodically refreshing CNN in my browser.

I've got school till 3:30 or so (although I've come down with something and have lost my voice completely so I may not go), but then I am glued to my TV and computer screen until every last precinct in the Alaska caucuses reports.

General election night 2006 I had a party and considered doing that for Tuesday night, but I never got around to planning it and I'll probably be happier alone.

I intend to vote for Hillary Clinton on Tuesday.  I feel that she is intellectually, ideologically, and temperamentally best suited for the office.  Admittedly she is shrewish and self-aggrandizing, but her drive to succeed will be the source of her distinction, as it has been in the past.  Her experience as first lady has given her a clear picture of the dirtiness of the game, and she is someone who knows how to fight with bare knuckles.  She will be able to accept partial victories and cut deals, having been chastened by the Hillarycare humiliation.  For example, I'm sure she knows full well that, owing to the filibuster, her Iraq withdrawal plan will never get passed (I doubt we'll get out within five years), but she will be able to make material improvements in our foreign policy short of total success.
On the other hand, I'm afraid to say that I don't find Barack Obama inspiring.  His constant professions of being a pure, uncorrupted voice in the political wilderness, someone who can inspire the "audacity of hope" strike me as sanctimonious palaver.  When he has to crawl in mud, as any president must, his claims to being a metaphor in the flesh, an embodiment of our highest civic virtues, will only look ridiculous.  His perorations (Chris Matthews acts as if Obama is the new Churchill) might wow them in Des Moines, but he hasn't the substance for policymaking.
I realize Obama might get the nomination, and I will vote for him over whomever emerges from the Republican House of Horrors, but it will be with a heavy heart.  Hillary, the woman who has spent her whole life trimming her own coat, now seems like just the woman for the job.

Depending on how close it ends up being I might actually be at work when most of the East Coast primaries are called.  I start at 5pm and I usually don't get home until around 9pm.

I have school Tuesday morning, am meeting a friend for lunch, and then it's a normal day. I'm not terribly interested in what happens. McCain is almost certain to win, there's a very good shot both Obama and Clinton will still be neck and neck come Wednesday morning, so it's not too big for me. Definitely not like Iowa or Florida was. Those I had time to care about.

Not sure. I might just stay up or I might go to bed early and wake up (very) early. Damn you Americans and your timezones.

Indeed. What time can I expect results (GMT+11)?

...Australian timezones are, however, much better for election results. Get up a little earlier than normal and watch the whole thing in the morning. Lovely.

Sit around watching MSNBC and posting here all night/Fail trying to drag my ass to school, opting for crying and drinking away the loss.

I'll be going to school and all on Tuesday, perhaps napping from 3-6pm, and then compulsively following results until the early morning.  I'm going into school late (1030am instead of 730am) on Wednesday.

Super Tuesday - nothing special.

Wednesday - work in the morning, then I'll probably find out the results on this forum some time in the afternoon.

Carpool to the caucus with my roommates, hang out with all our buddies who are going to the same one (the caucus is basically going to be only college kids + me, should be awesome because Obama will OWN), come back and drink up celebrating one of our friends' 21st birthday.

Same, except my case of "something" will be entirely fake.  ;)
