Sun God Festival vs Barack Obama

Obama. I have nothing against alternative religions, but for some reason pagan worship of things like the sun have always disturbed me. This is perhaps strange, because in my angst ridden high school years I studied things like Chaos Magick and theistic Satanism (A naïve time in my life} and I never really had a problem with them and still find the study of the occult fascinating. But something about paganism and worshiping things like the sun unsettles me. I believe this is because it tears back the layers of culture civilization has forced upon us and has us confront our own savage pasts as a species. Things like sun worship, in my view, help us to see what we perhaps really are as a species when we’re not distracting ourselves with the trappings of civilization. And to be honest, it scares me. But hey, I have no problem with others worshiping the sun, just let me pretend that I’m “civilized” ha ha.
