Title: Grant County, North Dakota Post by: tmthforu94 on June 20, 2009, 10:20:42 AM 2008 Presidential Results:
John S. McCain 44.17% Bob Barr 22.35% Barack Obama 21.07% Charles Baldwin 11.14% Ralph Nader 1.28% Does anyone know why 3rd party candidates did so well here, with Barr actually beating Obama? Title: Re: Grant County, North Dakota Post by: Kaine for Senate '18 on June 20, 2009, 10:22:39 AM We've been through this a hundred times. It was a mistake on the part of the County.

Title: Re: Grant County, North Dakota Post by: Saxwsylvania on June 20, 2009, 10:45:31 AM This topic has almost never been addressed before, and it wasn't a mistake. Grant County is very small and it's not surprising that you'd see odd results there.

Grant County is very small and it's not surprising that you'd see odd results there. If I may ask, did Barr spend time campaigning there, hoping he could win at least one count? No, Blubb is lying. Never listen to him, he's a troll. It's a mistake. The county has acknowledged it was a mistake. In one precinct, they counted McCain's votes for Barr and Obama's votes for Baldwin. But the state certified the results before the mistake could be rectified, so it's now official. Title: Re: Grant County, North Dakota Post by: Alcon on June 20, 2009, 04:10:49 PM This was especially annoying because, in addition to being really obvious, plenty of people warned them before certification.
But whatever. Title: Re: Grant County, North Dakota Post by: Associate Justice PiT on June 20, 2009, 04:52:47 PM Really? Maybe we should set up an official "Grant County, North Dakota" topic tracker. Title: Re: Grant County, North Dakota Post by: Hash on June 21, 2009, 04:23:54 PM We'll have atleast 200 by 2012. I have actually been here. No. I have never been to Wyoming except for Yellowstone, so I can't comment on it. Grant County mostly consists of lots of tumbleweeds, some farms and ranches, houses that don't appear to be fit for anything other than meth production, ghost towns, and some strange oddities on the road like old rotting grain silos which still stand only because no one has any reason to pay for their demolition or old busted unusable cars laying around for who knows what reason. However there are far worse parts of North Dakota.
