Edwards is a a candidate that could perhaps run. He could use his "Two Americas" slogan and run a progressive campaign, talking about inequality and poverty in the US. That combined with the fact that he's a white man he could unite the dems and attract independents.

You're trolling, right?

We're talking about the same John Edwards who was cheating on his dying wife with a campaign worker, and fathered a child with her, and was indicted was six felonies regarding using political donations to cover up said affair?

Either you are trolling, you are the most crazy GOP hack here, or you are insane.

It's not that wild to imagine. Sanford cheated on his wife, some years later after being out of the spotlight he runs for congress and wins. That stuff was years ago, I don't think it will have a huge effect on John's campaign.

The difference between Mark Sanford and John Edwards is that Sanford's wife didn't have terminal cancer.

I suppose if SirWoodbury can talk about John Edwards running with a straight face, then I can suggest, that if Tillis retires, Mark Harris should run.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/17/politics/thom-tillis-hispanics-masks-coronavirus/index.html

Quote
Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina is facing intense criticism from some Democratic lawmakers over recent remarks in which he suggested Hispanics are less likely to wear masks and social distance amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In an audio clip posted online by Democratic super PAC American Bridge, Tillis, who is up for reelection this year, said during a virtual town hall on Tuesday, "Just wear the mask out of respect. Now I will tell you I'm not a scientist and I'm not a statistician, but one of the concerns that we've had more recently is that the Hispanic population now constitutes about 44% of the positive cases, and we do have some concerns that in the Hispanic population we've seen less consistent adherence to social distancing and wearing a mask."

Something is very wrong with that statement. It's mostly white people refusing to wear masks and social distance for one, not that Tillis will admit it, and for another, where is he getting that the Hispanic population is 44% of the positive cases of COVID-19 from?

I'm moving this one from Tilt D to Tilt R (just like half the forum it seems)

Biden now has to carry North Carolina for Cunningham to win. Cooper's coattails alone aren't going to be enough anymore.

This could go back to Tilt D or to Lean R, depending on how the next week or so goes for Tillis/Cunningham.
